Installation Tips for the DWM Heating Mat System

3 Installation Tips for the Electric Heating Mat System:

heating mat system1. Always make sure to encapsulate the factory joint in thinset or floor leveler. It must never be inside the wall. Not encapsulating the joint will result in damage to your floor heating system. Chisel out a channel deep enough in your subfloor to accommodate the thickness of the joint.

2. If the cold tail lead of your Warmup system is not long enough it can be extended.

The cold lead of our product is composed of two 14 AWG conductors with a copper braid that acts as the grounding conductor. The cold lead cannot pass through studs unless running through a conduit. Extension of cold leads requires code-compliant junction boxes. The maximum length extension recommendation as per Warmup is 75’.

3. If you have more than one heating system, all the lead wires need to be connected in parallel to the thermostat. In this instance, it might be more convenient to run multiple lead wires to a junction box, and then a single wire (which has the appropriate rating) from the junction box to the thermostat.
