In Canada, in order to properly mount your 3iE or 4iE thermostat, you will need a back-box as well as a mud-ring.

Mud-ring reference: BC52-C-13 and BC52-C-0
Back-box reference: WSW-UPC from NuTek (one gang airtight plastic device box).
