What if my thermostat screen is black and won’t turn on?

If your thermostat has no display and will not turn on when power button is pushed, the thermostat could be wired incorrectly. Click here for more details.

Why is my Floor not Reaching Target Temperature?

If your heating system was installed on a concrete slab or over an unheated space and insulation boards were not used, it is possible that the heat loss into the subfloor will cause your floors to heat up more slowly and possibly not reach the target temperature. Click “Read More” for details.

Why does my thermostat trip every time it reaches the same temperature?

The resistance for your mat or cable is calculated on the length of the heater. Shortening the heater would increase the resistance and thereby the temperature. The cable is expected to operate fine at slightly higher temperatures for a time, but it may put undue strain on the end-splice, which may then trip and eventually fail.

Ground Fault Error: What does this Mean if my Thermostat has “Ground Fault Error” on the Display?

This message will occur if a ground fault is detected. Click “Read More” for details.

Master/Relay (relay reading ER1)

When setting up a large installation and connecting two or more thermostats as Master and Relays, all devices MUST have a floor sensor hooked up. Click “Read More” for details.

How do turn on my thermostat unit?

To turn on your system once your thermostat has been installed, simply turn on the breaker. The thermostat screen will light up. After setting the basic parameters of the thermostat, select a steady temperature in manual mode for your first heating period to ensure the product heats up.

Does the 3iE have a battery backup?

In the event of a power outage, the capacitor will hold the charge for approx 1 hour, after which time the device will require re-programming.

Can I Have Another Thermostat as an Acting Relay?

When you have multiple floor heating systems being powered that require more than 15amps, you can use an additional 3iE as a relay as opposed to purchasing a separate generic relay which Warmup can supply.

Why can’t I program my thermostat to read air temperature?

If you have set the floor type to any kind of floating floor, a safety feature in the thermostat will not allow you to increase the target temperature any higher than 81 degrees. Click “Read More” for details.

3iE Making Temporary Temperature Adjustments

Your 3IE allows the ability to temporarily change the floor temperature setting for a specific period of time. You will first need to “wake” your thermostat by touching the checkmark on the front screen. Notice that above the up and down arrows you see “override.” Touch either arrow to begin adjusting the target temperature that currently appears.

3iE Basic temperature programming/Setting each day separately

The picture below shows the screen you will see if you are in the “Program Schedule” screen. If you had selected the option of “View/Edit” a program, you would have to start in that particular menu to eventually reach menu now being referenced.

3iE Adjusting the time

If for some reason you need to change the time, do the following. Touch check under “wake.” Now the word “menu” will appear above the check. Touch it to begin. Next, touch the dash next to “settings.” Then, touch dash next to “time.” Touch dash next to “set time.” You will now be on the […]

Why is my Floor Temperature Reading Incorrect?

If your floor temperature reading significantly varies from the actual temperature of the floor, the sensor probe and cold tail lead may be in the same conduit. Putting both in the same conduit can cause interference with the probes temperature reading, which can cause inaccuracies.

What if the Sensor Probe Reads Higher or Lower than Actual Temperature?

In this guide, we will explore a few key factors to consider if your thermostat readings do not align with the true floor temperature. By following these steps and troubleshooting tips, you can ensure that your Warmup system provides accurate temperature control, enhancing the comfort and efficiency of your living space.

What does “ER1” on the thermostat display mean?

The ER1 message will also occur if no floor sensor is connected to the thermostat. Have your electrician make sure that the sensor probe wires are securely connected in ports 1 and 2 of the thermostat. If sensor was not installed, your thermostat can be programmed to read the air temperature instead by following the steps below.

It is likely to be a wiring or installation issue. Please consult our installation manual for further assistance. Troubleshooting steps will need to be done with a licensed electrician. Please have the electrician call us on site with the model numbers that were installed and a multimeter for testing.

My Floor has No Heat but There Are No Error Messages?

No Heat and No Error Messages

If your floor is not heating and you are not getting an error message, the first step is to confirm programming. Is the target temperature higher than the current temperature? Please make sure that when you are programming the thermostat that the triangle displays on the screen or the red light comes on (heating indicators vary for each thermostat) during times when you would like your floor to heat. If this heating indicator does not turn on, check your programming. Make sure your target temperature is higher than the floor temperature reading.

Is it Normal if I hear a Clicking Noise from my Thermostat?

The clicking noises are the relay opening and closing to let the power through to the heating system. While it should be hardly noticeable, it can be reduced by insulating the surrounding of the electrical box in which it is mounted. You should also ensure that the screws mounting both the box and the thermostat are tight.
