How to replace your current thermostat with a 7iE Thermostat
If you already have a Warmup Thermostat installed and would like to replace it with the 7iE Smart Thermostat, you can easily do so. The 7iE Thermostat is compatible with all Warmup Electric Underfloor Heating Systems.
Video Instructions
The video below will visually walk you through the process of replacing an existing Warmup Thermostat with a 7iE Thermostat:
Written Instructions
To replace your existing Warmup Thermostat with a 7iE Smart Thermostat, start by turning the power to the heating system off at the breaker. We recommend a qualified electrician perform the below steps:
Removing the Current Thermostat
Begin by removing the faceplate off of the thermostat that is current installed. Pull the faceplate up from the bottom to pop it off of the back. Note that if the faceplate has not been removed, previously, it may be tough to pull it off of the back and you may need to use some force to detach the faceplate.
Once the faceplate has been removed, use a screwdriver to remove the screws that attach the thermostat back to the gang box in the wall. Then, remove the thermostat unit from the wall.
Next, use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that hold the wires of the sensor probe in place. Once the screws have been loosened, remove the sensor probe wires from the thermostat back.
Lastly, disconnect the red and black wires on the line side from the power and on the load side from the heater in the floor. Once everything has been disconnected, you’re ready to install the new thermostat.
Installing the 7iE Thermostat
To install the 7iE Thermostat, start by reconnecting the cables that were previously disconnected. The red and black wires on the line side of the thermostat will connect to the power lines from the breaker and the red and black cables on the load side of the thermostat will connect to the cold lead wires of the heater in the floor.
Insert the black and white wires from the sensor probe cable into ports P1 and PC. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to these ports to secure the sensor probe wires in place.
Once all of the wires have been connected, carefully place the wire connections into the gang box and line up the holes for the screws in the thermostat back with the holes in the gang box. Place the screws in the holes and tighten to secure the thermostat back to the wall.
Lastly, attach the 7iE faceplate by hooking it on to the top of the mount and then pushing the bottom until it snaps into place.
Installation Complete
Once all of the above steps have been followed, you will have successfully replaced your old thermostat with a 7iE! After your thermostat boots up, you will need to do the initial programming. For assistance with this process, refer to this Warmupedia post.
