How to Connect Your 7iE Thermostat to Amazon Alexa


You can connect your 7iE Thermostat to an Amazon Alexa device with the QR Code in the “Network” settings. Scan the QR Code through the camera in the Amazon Alexa App and follow the prompts on the app to complete the setup.

Before You Begin

Before you begin the process of connecting your 7iE Thermostat to an Amazon Alexa device, ensure you have done the following:

Download & Set Up the MyHeating App

Start by downloading the MyHeating App if you have not done so already. The app can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones and the Google Play Store for Android Phones. Then, open the app and follow the prompts to create and set up your account.

Connect your Thermostat to the MyHeating App

Before you can connect your thermostat to another Matter-Enabled Smart Device, you must first connect your thermostat to the MyHeating App.

Download & Set Up the Amazon Alexa App

If you do not yet have the Amazon Alexa App, you will need to download it from your phone’s app store and set up your account before you can connect your thermostat to your Alexa device.

 

On Your Thermostat

To connect your Warmup 7iE Smart Thermostat to an Amazon Alexa device, start by pressing the 3 bars at the bottom of the screen to access the menu. Next, press “Settings” and then “Network.” Then, press the “Connect with Matter App” button. You will see a QR Code appear on the screen. The next steps will be completed on your phone with the Amazon Alexa App.

 

On the Amazon Alexa App

Open the app on your phone and click the “+” icon in the top right corner of the app. Then, click “Add Device.” Under “Shortcuts,” click on the Matter icon and then click “Yes.”

Click “Scan QR Code” to bring up the in-app camera. Line up the QR Code on the thermostat with the box in the center of the camera. Before you can use the camera, you may need to give the app permission to use the camera in your phone’s application settings.

When the QR Code has been successfully scanned, the app will move to the next screen. Here, press “Connect” and then wait for the connection to load. Once connected, a message will appear on your thermostat reading “Congratulations! Your thermostat is connected.” In the app, click “Next”

You will, then, be prompted to name your device. Enter the desired name and then press “Update Name.” Next, you will need to choose the location of your thermostat. Select the desired location and then press “Add to Group” and then “Continue.”

Your Amazon Alexa App will, then, give you a confirmation screen that your thermostat is set up and ready to use. Press “Done” to return to the home screen of the app.

Press “Done” on your thermostat to return to the home screen.

 

Control Your Thermostat through the App

In the Amazon Alexa App, click on the name of your thermostat. Use the “+’ and “-” icons to adjust the temperature as desired. The updated temperature will appear on the thermostat’s home screen above the menu icon, and the heating indicator will turn on.

 

Control Your Thermostat through an Alexa Device

Press the home icon in the top right to navigate to your device’s home screen. Press the widget with your thermostat’s name on it and use the “+” and “-” icons to adjust the temperature as desired. The updated temperature will appear on the thermostat’s home screen above the menu icon, and the heating indicator will turn on.
