How to Install an EZPT Thermostat

The EZPT Easy Programmable Thermostat is compatible with all Warmup Electric Underfloor Heating Systems and can be easily wired to both new and existing systems.

Video Instructions

The video below will visually walk you through the process of installing a new Warmup EZPT Thermostat:

Written Instructions

To install a new Warmup EZPT Thermostat, start by turning the power to the heating system off at the breaker. We recommend a qualified electrician perform the below steps:

Removing the Current Thermostat

If this is an existing system, begin by removing the currently installed thermostat. Otherwise, if this is a new installation, skip to the next section.

First, remove the faceplate off of the thermostat that is current installed. Once the faceplate has been removed, use a screwdriver to remove the screws that attach the thermostat back to the gang box in the wall. Then, remove the thermostat unit from the wall.

Next, use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that hold the wires of the sensor probe in place. Once the screws have been loosened, remove the sensor probe wires from the thermostat back.

Lastly, disconnect the red and black wires on the line side from the power and on the load side from the heater in the floor. Once everything has been disconnected, you’re ready to install the new thermostat.

Installing the EZPT Thermostat

Thermostat Wiring

To install the EZPT Thermostat, start by connecting the power and heater cables to the back of the thermostat. The power lines from the breaker will be installed in terminals LINE L & N. The lead wires from the heating cable will be installed in terminals LOAD L1 & N1. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw above each terminal to lock the cables in place. Then, place the protective rubber cover over the terminal block.

Insert the black (or red) and white wires from the sensor probe cable into the ports labeled SNR D & C. The sensor probe wires do not have polarity so either wire can go into either terminal. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to these ports (on the bottom of the terminal block) to secure the sensor probe wires in place.

Once all of the wires have been connected, carefully place the wire connections into the gang box and line up the holes for the screws in the thermostat back with the holes in the gang box. Place the screws in the holes and tighten to secure the thermostat back to the wall.

Attaching the Faceplate

Lastly, attach the faceplate by hooking it on to the top of the mount and then pushing the bottom until it moves into place. Then, using a screwdriver, insert the faceplate screw into the bottom of the faceplate and tighten the screw to secure the faceplate to the power module. Once the breaker is turned back on, the thermostat will take a few moments to turn on.

Installation Complete

Once all of the above steps have been followed, you will have successfully installed your EZPT Thermostat! After your thermostat boots up, your thermostat will be ready to use. Refer to this page on our website for more step-by-step instructions on using your thermostat.
