How do I conduct a floor probe test?

If you believe that the temperature reading on your thermostat is inaccurate or if you have an ER1 error message it is recommended that you test your floor probe. To test the floor probe you will need a digital multimeter with a 20k setting. If necessary, you can purchase one here.
First, disconnect the floor probe from ports 1 and 2 on the back of the thermostat unit.
Warmup Tip: If you notice that the probe has not been installed in ports 1 and 2 you may have already found your issue.
Next, set your multimeter to 20k and connect either end to each of the ends of the multimeter. The colors do not matter.
A functioning floor probe will read between 7 and 17. If you are outside of this range, the floor probe has failed.
Warmup Tip: A backup floor probe is always recommended. Look for a second probe and test before connecting if you find one!
