Are Ultralight Insulation Boards Sound Proof?

Ultralight Insulation Boards are not “sound proof,” but are an excellent product for the reduction of sound.

Soundproofing is measured in North America using Sound Transmission Class STC. The STC scale is a logarithmic measure of sound reduction throughout the frequency range of human hearing. The STC rating accounts for airborne sound measured between 125 Hz to 4000 Hz. (SONOpan, 2024).
