Installing a Relay for Loads over 15 Amps
When installing a relay, it’s important to note that each relay will need its own dedicated 20 amp circuit.
Use a relay for expansion with loads requiring 15 amps or more. Power modules/relays connect to the live circuit and the load wires.
The maximum distance between the thermostat and power modules is 80 ft.
Use field wiring cable recommended minimum 20 AWG ‐ two conductors.
Connect communications wire to terminals A and B on the thermostat, then to terminals C and D on the relay. Connect communications wire to terminals A and B on the first relay then to terminals C and D on the second relay when using multiple relays
Thermostat and relays have Class A GFCI protection built in. Warmup recommends a 20 amp non – GFCI circuit dedicated circuit be supplied to each thermostat or relay.
