Do I need to connect my Towel Warmer to a thermostat?

While you can connect your Towel Warmer to a Warmup Thermostat, it is not required. Wiring the unit to a light switch is perfectly acceptable.

Warmup towel warmers are safe and easy to use. While most of our models require hard-wiring to a power source (except plug-in models) they do not require a control.

If your goal is to get the comfort of a nice warm towel after the bath or shower, then wire it to your light switch.  If the plan is to dry the towels faster in an active household, then wire it to a separate switch. You can leave the switch on separately from the lights or fan.

When combining a towel warmer to a Warmup floor heating system, you can conveniently connect the device to your Warmup Thermostat. Double-check the amperage draw of the existing system before combining both on the same controller. If unsure, contact a professional installer/electrician, or call us at (888) 927-6333.
