Does the ASE snowmelt controller have built in GFCI?
DS-2C Outdoor Snow Melting Controller
Technically, most States will require outdoor heating appliances to be put on a GFEP breaker (Ground Fault Equipment Protection) which is a grade away from GFCI. The ASE series does not have built-in GFCI.
Yes, one should use protected breakers, but that is up to the electrician as it is a local code issue. Warmup recommends the electrician put the system on a GFCI breaker. Safer is better.
