The Challenge

Amazon needed a solution to keep their truck washing area clear of snow and ice during the harsh winter months in order to maintain their high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. Traditional snow removal methods, such as shoveling and plowing, were time-consuming and costly, and often resulted in downtime for the facility. Amazon was looking for a more cost-effective and efficient solution.

The Solution

After researching different snow melting options, Amazon decided to install electric snow melting mats from Warmup in their 1000 square feet truck washing area. Eight units of WSMM-480V/6000W were installed, with each mat spaced 6 inches apart. A Commbox-600 snow melting controller was also installed to offer more features than any other Warmup control and is ideal for larger projects over 1,000 square feet. The snow melting mats were designed to pre-heat the space, preventing any snow or ice accumulation in the truck washing area. The system was also equipped with a temperature and moisture sensor that would automatically turn on the mats, ensuring that the area remains clear and safe for truck washing.
