Our Volunteering Journey
The Warmup team generously dedicated their time to the Green Chimneys Brewster campus, on October 10th, 2023. Our mission was to remove worn-out paint from fences and apply a fresh primer coat for a polished finish. This collective effort aimed to enhance the overall appearance and ambiance of the campus. Green Chimneys’ commitment to providing a loving, and well-taken environment was reflected in this impactful task, contributing significantly to their cause.
Diverse Facilities and Programs
The campus boasts a variety of facilities, including a dining hall, pool, elementary/middle school building, a dedicated high school building, and a dorm hall with a help center for post-high school transitions. The institution hosts events like the Bird of Prey event, engages with the community through volunteering opportunities, and operates a summer camp.
Building Confidence in the Face of Adversity
Green Chimneys opens its doors to children facing unfortunate family situations, anxiety, and a lack of confidence. Through a blend of education, nature immersion, and animal interaction, these children regain their confidence, enabling them to reintegrate into their home schools or continue their educational journey within the Green Chimneys community.
Conclusion
Green Chimneys, with its commitment to healing through nature and animals, stands as a symbol of encouragement for children facing adversity. In the landscapes of Brewster, this institution is not just a school—it’s a transformative journey, where children discover confidence, build skills, and embrace the therapeutic power of the natural world. Green Chimneys, with its coffee on wheels initiative and a myriad of programs, embodies the spirit of resilience, compassion, and learning, making a lasting impact on the lives it touches. Exploring the campus and its surroundings was an enriching experience, and we look forward to coming back next year for another round of volunteering to contribute positively to the community.
