What is Floor Heating?

Floor Heating is a method of heating where a building is heated by warming the floor, via a heating system installed within the floor. Heat is then distributed through the building both as the floor heats the air (or your feet) and as the floor acts as one large radiator sending heat to warm your body. Floor Heating is considered the most comfortable form of heating your home or office for three main reasons:
  • The whole of the floor surface is heated spreading the heating across a large surface area and avoiding radiator hotspots.
  • Around 50% of the heat is radiant heat which warms the body directly like the sun on a warm summers day.
  • The warming is more natural, from the toes up, and reduced air circulation brings reduced draughts.
Warmup Electric Floor Heating uses an electric conductor installed within the floor to heat the flooring which heats the room. The floor heating system is controlled by a thermostat to accurately deliver the desired room temperature.
