Warmup, the global, award-winning manufacturer of electric radiant floor heating has just introduced an in-slab cable to their comprehensive product range to now heat concrete floors and countertops. Decorative concrete flooring is a growing trend and Warmup's in-slab cable lets you enjoy them in comfort. Concrete floor heating is ideal for refurbished basements, garages, 4-season room additions, new builds and even concrete countertops. Now you can warm naturally-cold concrete efficiently and economically with Warmup's new electric in-slab heating.

With an output of up to 21W/sqft, it can be used as primary heating, giving you complete design freedom. Our extensive range of in-slab heating cables are simple to install and easy to embed in a thin profile material (less than 1/8") in various forms of concrete and allows for flexibility in terms of steps and odd shapes (e.g. custom showers). The thermal storage is embedded in concrete (attached to a rebar or to our supplied lsquo;clips') or is layered in a small pour of sand to create a heatbank under a foundation, slab or basement.

Key Advantages of Warmup Electric In-slab Heating:

Tough thick heating cable is protected by multiple layers of metal sheathing and insulation.

Unlike hydronics, there is no worry of leaking pipes or noisy pumps.

The Dual conductor cancels any electromagnetic interference and has a one-point connection

For primary heating (In-slab), space at 3", 4" or 5" for heat outputs of 21W, 17W and 12W per sqft

For Frost Heave protection, space at 6" to 8" for heat outputs of 10W to 7W per sqft

It's approximately 1/3 the cost of a hydronics system

There are no maintenance costs. Install it and simply enjoy warmth when you want it

It's more flexible in terms of zoning than hydronics and better zoning means more efficient heating with lower running costs.

Available in a 240V, as well as 120V, letting you heat large areas on one 15A thermostat

We recommend installing the system on insulation boards so that all the heat is sent up into the floor, thereby maximising the system's efficiency and reducing the running time.

It's fast to install

It's versatile - other floor surface can be installed over the top, should you, or future owners wish to choose that option.

It is UV resistant and environmentally friendly, making it ideal for embedded situations.

All Warmup systems are operated by our easy-to-program 4-event/7 day thermostat. It has an integrated Class-A GFCI, making it ideal for wet rooms. For accurate temperature control, the thermostat has three settings ambient, floor probe or ambient and floor probe.The extensive range of cables are covered by Warmup's unique SafetyNet Installation whereby if you accidentally damage the wire during installation, but before the final pour, Warmup will replace the heater free (terms and conditions apply). The heater comes with a 10-Year Warranty (transferable to future owners).Let Warmup's Layout and Design Service do the work for you! Simply fax or email your exact room measurements and project details and we will send you a layout and quote within 2 business days.

Warmup® Partners with Higuera Hardwoods: Heated Bamboo Floors

Warmup Inc. has announced a new partnership with Higuera Hardwoods LLC, manufacturers and distributors of quality bamboo flooring products. This alliance combines the ecological benefits of durable bamboo with Warmup's economically efficient electric floor heating systems.

Regis Verliefde, Warmup CEO and Joe Gallegos, CEO of Higuera Hardwoods, are merging sustainable bamboo flooring with efficient floor heating systems, providing the perfect answer to LEED certified projects. Bamboo is an excellent alternative to hardwood, because the rapidly growing grass is as strong as wood, but can be harvested in one-third the time from sustainable sources. Warmup's energy-efficient radiant heating is an ideal complement.

Higuera Hardwoods LLC is one of the first US manufacturers and distributors to offer Forestry Stewardship Council approved bamboo products. They only use Moso bamboo, which is a solid strand woven and engineered grade-A bamboo. All other associated materials either meet or exceed E1 emission standards and complies with the new California Carb I and Carb II requirements.

The extensive testing of Warmup's in floor heating system under Higuera Hardwood's bamboo was a success. After several months of operation under various conditions in the northwest region of the US, no crimping, cracking or spacing of the planks was noted. Humidity levels were maintained at a stable rate to provide ideal conditions for the flooring to perform as intended.

"As an award-winning manufacturer of electric floor heating systems for over 15 years, Warmup has over 1 million installations in 36 countries in both commercial and residential projects" said Verliefde. "We have invested heavily in building several EN442-2 standard designed test labs to thoroughly test heat energy consumption, heat distribution and installation techniques. With these measurable results, we can confidently give our customers exact running costs and prove how energy efficient our heating systems are.

rdquo;Warmup's electric radiant floor heating is an ideal technology to address today's heating needs. It complements the increasing shift toward renewable, cleaner energy from wind, water and biosources to meet global energy targets. By distributing the heat evenly over the whole floor surface, radiant heat can provide the same level of comfort while operating at lower temperatures, thereby using less energy as well.

"We are excited to partner with an equally ecologically-minded company like Higuera Hardwoods. Our products have great synergy to address the growing trend towards green building, decorating and LEED certification." added Verliefde.

Discover how much Warmupreg; Electric Floor Heating Systems cost to run in their newly published brochure which helps consumers calculate their running costs (available at www.warmup.com). Leading manufacturer Warmupreg; concludes that their Systems can heat up to 10 square feet of flooring for less than one penny per hour.

Gas and oil prices have risen more sharply than electricity since 2002, making electricity a much cheaper heating alternative. Add the unique way underfloor heating works, and you have a very efficient heating method for pennies per day (based on a DoE national average of 9 cents).

ldquo;Frequently we are asked how much our floor heating systems cost to run by consumers, building contractors and flooring specialistsrdquo; said Sharon Mangino, General Manager at Warmup in Danbury, CT. ldquo;Warmup built a facility to International EN442-2 Standards to provide precise and reliable results on heat up times, running costs and best operating procedures for our heating system, which we include in our brochure.rdquo; she said.

The tests show consumers how installing inexpensive insulation boards cut the Systems heat-up times by up to 80%. The faster your room heats up, the less your heating system is on, saving money. Once the floor is warm, the energy-star rated thermostat only cycles on to maintain the temperature, thereby running only 40%-60% of the time.

Zoning lets you heat only those rooms in use, adding to the savings. Its ideal in spring and autumn to take the chill out of a room, without having to heat the entire house.

With the highest wattage in the under floor heating market, at 14 watts per sq. ft., it can be used as a sole heating source. Competitively priced, Warmupreg; has a flexible range of heaters for almost all floor types to suit any size room.

Warmupreg; offers a transferable 30-Year Warranty, Safety Net Installation Guarantee, live 24/7 Technical Support and a no-obligation Quotation and Layout Service provided within 2 business days (M-F).

Warmup, based in Danbury, CT, is a manufacturer and global supplier of floor heating products since 1994.

Warmup introduces a new process to safely install electric underfloor heating under hardwood floors! By using 1rdquo; to 2rdquo; wood strips, or ldquo;sleepersrdquo; nailed into the subfloor in parallel, 12rdquo; to 20rdquo; apart, Warmups flexible Loose Wire Heater or Matting System can be installed evenly in between the sleepers. The heat-regulating probe is placed between the wires before applying a layer of leveling compound over the heating wire up to the level of the sleeper boards. Once cured, the hardwood flooring is installed by nailing the flooring into the wood sleepers only, keeping the radiant heat wire safe and secure. Sharon Mangino, General Manager for Warmup says ldquo;This process provides an even distribution of heat while preserving the quality of wood floors. Hardwood floors look beautiful and now with Warmupreg;, they can feel great too.rdquo;

Industry leader, Warmup Inc, announced today that their Carbon Heating System ranks #32 on Qualified Remodeler Magazines prestigious TOP 100 List. From thousands of products featured every year in Qualified Remodeler, Warmups Carbon Heating System was one of the most often requested by their subscribers.

Warmup exclusively offers the only UL Listed carbon heater in North America, for engineered wood and laminate flooring to provide primary or secondary heating without warping or cold spots. The low-profile heaters are custom cut and delivered to the site within five business days from receipt of the order. The simple-to-install panels come in both 12 and 36 inch widths for excellent area coverage and in 120VAC and 240VAC for use throughout the home or office.

The ultra thin (thinner than a dime) panels have pre-spaced one-inch parallel carbon strips distributing heat safely and evenly, providing a uniform heat distribution, to prevent warping. Thermostatically controlled, with a self-regulating feature means the system will only reach a maximum temperature of 85ordm;F/26.5ordm;C, providing luxurious warmth with design freedom. No other heater on the market heats laminated floors more evenly and efficiently.

For fuel efficiency, Warmup heating systems operate via an Energy-Star rated programmable thermostat which includes an energy-monitoring feature. To maximize the systems energy efficiency, Warmup also sells R2 insulation boards, heating a room up to 10 times faster on both cement and wood subfloors.

Sharon Mangino, General Manager for Warmup Inc, based in Connecticut said ldquo;It is an honor to be part of Qualified Remodelers Top 100 List. At Warmupreg;, we work continuously to offer cutting edge, yet affordable floor heating solutions.rdquo;

ldquo;With the popularity of laminate and engineered wood flooring, we have seen rapid growth in the sales our radiant heating range from builders and contractors wanting to add affordable luxury to their projects. Sales have far exceeded our expectations since its launch last year. The response to our entire underfloor heating range has been enormous, says Mangino.rdquo;

Warmups underlaminate heaters complement their ADEX award-winning matting system and loose wire system for ceramic tile and stone.

Warmups trained staff offers a free quote and layout service, turned around the next business day, once exact area measurements are faxed or e-mailed to them.

The company offers unparalleled 24/7 toll-free hotline customer service support for any problems or installation questions. In addition to a 30 year product warranty, their unique SafetyNet Installation guarantee offers to replace, free of charge, a heater accidentally damaged during installation (terms and conditions apply).

Warmup,reg; a global manufacturer and industry leader in underfloor heating products, introduces their state-of-the-art underlaminate carbon heater to compliment their range of heating systems for different flooring needs. In a continuous effort to offer simple and affordable floor heating solutions, Warmup has now expanded their range to include a radiant heating system for underlaminate and engineered wood.

Simple to install, the made-to-measure panels are only 1mm thick so they wont raise floor levels. They can be taped and secured to either a concrete or wooden subfloor in a matter of hours, with no mess or drying times involved. A qualified electrician is needed, however, to wire the panels to the thermostat.The technologically advanced heaters are energy efficient and provide a safe, even distribution of heat. There is no warping or overheating due to the positive temperature coefficient which self regulates the system, meaning the warmer the element gets, the lower the energy draw (maximum heating capacity is 80ordm;F/26.5ordm;C). It has been tested extensively and is C-UL listed, giving peace of mind. The self-regulating panels are available in 12 and 36 inch widths in both 120 and 240V.The heaters are controlled by an Energy Star rated programmable thermostat which is sold separately. Readings from the underfloor probe sensor ensure the precise temperature setting for the floor. Each thermostat allows up to 4 timer settings for each day of the week and includes an energy consumption monitoring feature.Warmup offers a free quote and layout service provided the next business once exact area measurements are faxed or e-mailed to them. Custom orders are shipped within 4 business days.The company offers unparalleled 24/7 toll-free hotline customer service support for any problems or installation questions. In addition to a 10 year product warranty, their unique SafetyNet guarantee offers to replace, free of charge, a heater accidentally damaged during installation (terms and conditions apply). See warmup.com for more details or call 888-927-6333.Warmup provides a range of radiant heating systems for tiled, ceramic or stone floors with a loose wire system for small or irregular shaped rooms and a matting system suited for larger, regularly shaped rooms and can be used as a sole source of heating (have an architect do a heat loss analysis first).Warmup Inc is the US division of Warmup PLC, the UKs leading manufacturer of electric underfloor heating systems since 1994 and trades in over 11 countries around the world.For additional information, contact Chris Winter on 888-927-6333 or e-mail chriswinter@warmup.com.

Cold Floor Syndrome is quickly becoming a thing of the past as companies and technologies spring up to cure frozen tootsies. There is a multitude of choices out there from water-based to wire systems that are either embedded in some fashion or just laid underneath the levels of flooring. Warmup, has added to the pack of choices with its ultra-low profile carbon heater system for laminate floors.

This months Remodelers Choice is a British import that we brought to you in our November 2006 issue of Qualified Remodeler. Started in 1994, Warmup started with lowprofile wire radiant heating systems for under tile. In 2002, Warmup hit the global market and brought its innovation to the United States.

Warmups latest creation is the Radiant Electric Floor Heating System for laminate floors and floating floor systems. This system is installed under the floor to provide either primary or supplementary heat. These heaters are energyefficient and provide a safe, even distribution of heat. Warmup Underlaminate Heaters are sold in two widths (12- and 36-in.) and are thin (thinner than a dime), so they wont raise floor levels.

ldquo;Radiant systems give even heat across a room,rdquo; says Sharon Mangino, general manager of the United States operations. ldquo;With forced-air systems heat is moving up and around and can cause rooms to be cold in the middle. People prefer warm feet and tend to feel warmer with heat radiating from the floor mdash; even if its colder around the head level.rdquo;

More and more, radiant heating is being used as a primary heat source, Mangino says, and to slightly warm up tiles during the summer when the air conditioning is on. Warmup has also seen applications go beyond just the kitchen, bathroom and sunroom. It is getting more interest from yacht and RV home owners.

Among Warmups other products is its Loose Wire System. It has designed this system using a 0.12-in., ultrathin, dual-core heating element. The small cross-section of this element allows it to be installed in a matter of hours with no need to dig up the floor or mix concrete. It is just simply laid down on the subfloor and tiled over. To make this wire system even simpler, Warmup also offers a Undertile Matting System. The electrical heating cable is attached to a tough fibreglass mesh, rolled out before tiling and connected to a programmable thermostat.

Although Warmup does offer a 30 year warranty transferable to any new homeowners and a SafetyNet Guarantee on the loose wire and matting system, this doesnt ensure proper working order. Mangino states that it is important to test the system before tiling to make sure there are no problems.

Up next for Warmup, the company is looking to dive deeper into U.S. market and look at new technologies for a warm future. ldquo;I think by 2010, fifty percent of homes and offices will have underfloor heating,rdquo; adds Mangino.

This award goes to a manufacturer or designer who has exceeded expectations in taking their products to international markets and is London's only international business awards programme. The award recognises the successes of the capital's SMEs in trading internationally under UK Trade amp; Investment's (UKTI) Passport to Export programme.To win, Warmup demonstrated a clear indication of future plans and commitment to consolidate and/or increase international sales and the company has shown evidence of how an international trade strategy has translated into results.International director Howard Flood attributes the success to lsquo;going back to basics. ldquo;We asked ourselves who the decision maker is,rdquo; he said. ldquo;We made sure we were talking to the right people. We also targeted our sales and marketing materials to explain the benefits of our system and made sure we were attending the right trade shows to gain exposure to those people. We had our brochures and installation manuals translated to make the information even more accessible.rdquo;ldquo;Local knowledge is important and so is having people who speak the language,rdquo; Flood continued. ldquo;The formula we have in the UK does not necessarily work elsewhere. The UK has a big DIY market and people are prepared to spend weekends installing a system whereas in Latin countries we have a network of installers because people dont want to do it themselves.ldquo;Although they are thought of as warm countries, Spain and Portugal have been very good markets for us. They have a lot of ceramic and marble flooring, which gets cold in winter. With our systems you can take the chill off without having a full central heating system.rdquo;ldquo;High service levels are essential. We typically respond to inquiries with an emailed quote within 24 hours. By taking this approach and following these simple procedures we have grown the Spanish market ten fold and the US is 30-40 per cent up.Even prior to joining Passport to Export, Warmup had already started exporting to Germany and the US. In the past 18 months the company has received orders from 12 further countries. With all of this growth more space was needed. Warmup has moved its headquarters in the UK to larger factory and office premises, where a night shift has been introduced to step up production to keep pace with increased demand. In addition, new sales staff had been hired and more appointments are planned later this year.Ideal for almost any flooring, Warmups extensive range of BEAB-approved heating systems is used in kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories and are backed by industry-leading warranties. Celebrity clients include actor and film director Jackie Chan in Hong Kong and Daryl Worley, a country and western star from Nashville, Tennessee.

Warmup has launched a new range of heating mats, designed to make installation in larger areas quick and easy. The wire comes already pre-spaced on a sturdy fiberglass mesh; all you have to do is roll the mat out and tile straight over it. And because the wire is only 3mm thick, it does not raise floor levels. It simply gets absorbed into the layer of tile adhesive.Warmups new heater wire is constructed using a thin, dual-core element that makes installation a breeze. Where previously both cable ends had to be wired back to the thermostat, the new dual-wire system now eliminates the need to loop the wire to the start point making installation faster than before. The original loose wire system is ideal for smaller, irregular shaped areas. All Warmup heating products have received BEAB and UL approval.To complement the heating range, Warmup offers their optional state-of-the-art insulation backer boards which greatly improve energy efficiency, thereby saving money and heating a room up to 10 times faster on both cement and wood subfloors. The running costs for a luxuriously warm floor is around 13 cents per hour [rates vary by state], or the equivalent of 3, 100 watt light bulbs and kits cost from as little as $325.Warmup, a global supplier of floor heating products since 1994, manufactures their own heaters, ensuring the highest quality products. Backed by this experience, Warmup provides homeowners an industry leading 30-year transferable warranty. In addition to its product warranty, Warmup also covers installers with its unique ldquo;Safety-Net Guaranteerdquo;.

Danbury, CT ndash; Warmup Inc, a leading suppliers of electric under floor heating systems, was selected to feature on CNNs highest rated show Open House recently to explain and demonstrate the benefits of the growing trend in radiant heat.With the raising interest in under floor heating, CNN approached Warmup, headquartered in Danbury Connecticut, to show just how easy it is to install and affordable to run.Sharon Mangino, Managing Director at Warmup said ldquo;We have seen a significant growth in the radiant heat market in the US over the past few years. As more people remodel and improve their homes, radiant heat is seen to be a key feature that offers luxurious warmth and significant resale value, yet is affordable to install and operate. It runs independently from the central heating on its own thermostat, so you control where and when the floors are set warm.rdquo;ldquo;As more homeowners lay tiles, stone, laminate and engineered wood throughout their home, Warmup has a range of ultra-thin heating systems that gently warm the different floor surfaces. We just launched our state-of-the-art carbon heater for laminate and engineered wood flooring and the response has been overwhelmingrdquo;, Mangino said.Warmup systems can be used to take the chill off the room or in some circumstances as a sole source of heating, thereby offering more design freedom. Running costs for an average room are the equivalent of three 100 watt light bulbs to operate. The Energy-Star rated thermostat controls the system and monitors energy consumption.As a leader in the radiant heating market with unparalleled industry warranties, Warmup provided viewers with a walk-through interview of their offices, explained the difference between tile and laminate heaters and concluded with a demonstration on how quick and easy it is to install with no special skills or tools needed. All you need is an electrician to wire up the thermostat.You can see a video clip of this feature by going to warmup.com and clicking on the icon ldquo;Warmup - As seen on CNNrdquo;.Warmupreg; is a global supplier of floor heating products since 1994 and manufactures their own heaters in the UK, ensuring the highest quality products.
