Insulation Properly insulating the home is the first way to reduce energy costs. (…)
Thermostat In the meantime, work with what you already have as a heat source and improve upon it. Simply invest in a good thermostat and set the programming for several degrees lower when everyone is at work or school, and when everyone is asleep. Set it to warmer temperatures, about a half hour before returning home, or when family members are scheduled to wake up. This practice can save you about 10 percent on your heating bill.
By following just these 2 action items, you can already save a lot of energy! For instance, using Warmup insulation boards on your subfloors can help you save up to 60-70% on heat loss to the concrete slab. And with our new energy-monitoring thermostat, you’ll be able to save up to 15% on your energy bills. Combined togeher, your savings total 50%!
