Not just for modern homes

May 14th, 2006

An article in the Financial Times illustrates how homes in the country can be tastefully renovated to include all the modern comforts (including underfloor heating) and contemporary style without sacrificing the rustic way of life.

Underfloor heating offers an ideal way of obtaining really comfortable warmth throughout the home whilst leaving walls free (of radiators!) for your furniture and decoration.

Installation Guide

May 8th, 2006

Installation of Warmup underfloor heating is not difficult and can be accomplished without the need for specialist equipment or tools. You will find resources here to help you: Warmup installation guide, Warmup installation video (English), Warmup installation video (Spanish), Warmup installation manual (pdf).

Alternative power

March 15th, 2006

The advent of technology has seen a toll on our natural environment with the rapid depletion of resources. The two however need not always be mutually exclusive. In fact, advanced technology should be the answer to redemption and with well designed products, there could be complementary usage.

Electric underfloor heating with self-regulating cable can sense other sources of heat, such as solar radiation, wind power, electrical appliances and lighting, and adjust its heat output automatically. While it is not possible to demand the presence of some of these energy sources at will, a combined usage with conventional electricity supply ought to overcome the problem.

The feasibility of applying these alternative energy sources to use in conjunction with electric underfloor heating clearly depends on several other factors such as location and other fundamental/technical issues as well. If it spells eco-friendly dollar savings for the user however, it could be an aspect well worth exploring.

Rave review of Warmup

March 7th, 2006

I was told today by someone that he’d accompanied his child to a party and there he’d met this builder who couldn’t praise the Warmup system enough! To quote him, “I was thinking of getting a new carpet for my bathroom. He (the builder) wouldn’t hear of it).”

I must say that this was very encouraging indeed and is an excellent testimonial to the high quality of Warmup!

Less of a hazard

February 28th, 2006

For the clumsy like me, underfloor heating would be perfect. Since I burned my hand against the radiator one day and waited in the body-punishing duration of another for my bathroom and kitchen floor to dry so i could finally use them, I have been plotting to convince my landlord to install Warmup Underfloor Heating. Safety - definitely a plus with underfloor heating!

Benefits of programmable thermostats

February 23rd, 2006

It’s little wonder that when choosing a controller for underfloor heating, programmable thermostats are increasingly popular when compared to conventional manual thermostats.

Programmable thermostats automatically adjust your home’s temperature settings, allowing you to save energy while you’re away or sleeping. Not only are they more convenient and accurate than manual thermostats and improve your home’s comfort, they save energy and save money on utility bills – when used properly, about £60/year.

Containing no mercury, these smart gadgets are also better for the environment, since using less energy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with energy production.

Warmup programmable thermostats meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the government. These units save energy by offering 4 convenient, pre-programmed temperature settings – settings that try to anticipate when it’s convenient for you to scale back on heating or cooling.

If you are like many homeowners and work outside the home during the day and have a different schedule on the weekend, a programmable thermostat can offer many benefits, with the return on your investment being recouped usually within 1 year.

On the other hand, if you are home throughout the day, seven days a week, then a programmable thermostat will offer slightly more limited benefits.
